Science helps children to develop basic scientific ideas and understanding, which will enable them to explore and investigate their world.

The four strands of the Science curriculum are Living Things, Materials, Energy and Forces and Environmental Awareness and Care.

We host guest speakers to the school to develop an awareness of Science in the everyday lives of our pupils and to promote an interest in Science. Pupils engage in exciting activities during Engineering Week and we regularly hold ‘Science Days’ where the pupils conduct experiments and investigate scientific concepts.

Mathematics education provides pupils with a wide range of knowledge and skills which help to develop an understanding of the physical world and social interactions. It gives the child a language and a platform through which they can describe, illustrate and interpret; predict; explain patterns and relationships in Number, Algebra, Shape and space, Measures and Data. Maths is predominately taught using concrete materials and real life modelling.
